WELL, that was easy. Pierre Poilievre waltzed back into office this week with a convincing byelection victory in a surefire Alberta riding that, had he come in under the 80 per cent that he received, would have been a shocker. Which is to say this was a bit of a lame win.

Poilievre sought to frame the victory as a political comeback, a sign of resilience. But as Christine Awram, founder of Women of Worth put it in a post: “Winning the Battle River-Crowfoot riding as a Conservative is like winning a sprint against someone injured on crutches.”
