Former federal prosecutor Elie Honig blasted Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche for acting like Donald Trump’s “private civil lawyer” when gathering “utterly useless” testimony from convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

Honig told CNN’s on Saturday that the interview transcript released by the DOJ on Friday exposed Blanche’s line of questioning on the infamous Epstein birthday book for what it was — an effort to exonerate Trump and help him win his defamation suit against for reporting on it.
