Donald Trump is engaging in the "set-up of the century," according to the president's former trusted operative over the weekend.
Former Trump associate Lev Parnas, who says he used to be "deep inside the Trump machine" and now reports from the outside, published an article Saturday called, "The Theatrics Are Over-Trump’s Dictatorship and the Cover-Up of the Century Begin," in which he argued, "From Ukraine’s bloodshed to John Bolton’s raid and the explosive Maxwell–Todd Blanche audio recording—this week marked the beginning of Trump’s retribution tour and the rewriting of history."
Parnas says that the FBI raiding the home of Trump official-turned-critic John Bolton was the launching of the president's "retribution" tour. Then, something worse happened, Parnas said.
"But the darkest blow came late Friday afternoon. The DOJ, instead of protecting victims, released not only the transcripts but an actual tape recording of Ghislaine Maxwell. And just as I warned, this was never about justice. This was about rewriting history," he wrote. "This is not justice. This is erasure. The cleansing of Donald Trump’s name. The rebranding of the most notorious child trafficker in U.S. history as some misunderstood figure. And in the process, the real victims—the survivors—are silenced, forgotten, smeared."
Then, Parnas went on to highlight the most "chilling" response possible.
"Maxwell’s lawyer, responded to the DOJ’s release of the taped interview with Todd Blanche in a way that was nothing short of chilling. His response was an attack on the victims—dismissing survivors as liars while carefully laying the groundwork for Maxwell’s release," according to Parnas. "This isn’t just the cover-up of the century—it’s the set-up of the century. A twisted reality where the convicted predator and her enablers are recast as victims, while the actual survivors are painted as frauds. My sources tell me this is not speculation—this is the narrative they are deliberately building right now."
