Air Canada has announced that more passengers affected by flight cancellations during last week’s strike will be eligible for reimbursement. This includes customers who booked their original Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge flights through travel agencies or Aeroplan. They can now request reimbursement via the airline's online form, in addition to those who purchased tickets directly from Air Canada.

The reimbursement policy applies to flights that were scheduled to depart between August 15 and August 23. It is specifically for cases where Air Canada could not rebook passengers, who then made their own travel arrangements. However, there is an exception for passengers who booked their original Air Canada flights through another carrier. Those individuals are encouraged to seek reimbursement from that airline, while Air Canada will cover the difference in costs for alternative travel.

The airline initially announced this reimbursement policy last Wednesday and expanded it the following day to include “reasonable expenses” for hotel stays, meals, and other related costs.

As of Saturday morning, Air Canada reported that its operations are nearly back to full capacity following the three-day flight attendants’ strike. The airline expects that 99 percent of its domestic, U.S., and international flights will operate as scheduled over the next 24 hours.
