Edmonton police are investigating two collisions that left a pair of people dead.
On Friday, police responded after 65-year-old woman was struck while crossing Edgemont Way with her 11-year-old, who was on a bike. She was hit by a Ford F350. The driver, a 38-year-old male, remained on the scene.

The senior was transported to hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
“Our hearts go out to the family, and to everyone who witnessed this devastating event,” said acting Staff Sgt. Duane Bateman from the Edmonton Police Service’s major collision investigations section. “We’re especially grateful to the bystanders who stepped in to help, and to our first responders who responded with compassion and care.”
