David Blay does not like to use the word “potential” when describing Miami’s group of fellow defensive tackles.
“Potential is something that somebody could say about us,” Blay said, “and that can be very good and very bad, mainly determining off of what we do with it.”
Instead, Blay said, he’ll just say the group is hard at work.
“Everybody here is working,” Blay said. “We’re working hard, I’m not going to lie.. As long as we stay on our (work) … we should be more than good.”
Blay is expected to play a large role in the Hurricanes’ defensive-tackle rotation this year as UM looks to improve at the position.
“That group together has made significant improvement and needs to make more significant improvement,” Miami coach Mario Cristobal said.
