COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- At 5PM Saturday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center declared that Tropical Storm Fernand had formed roughly 405 miles southeast of Bermuda. At the time of it formation, Fernand had sustained winds of 40mph and gusts up to 50mph.

The storm is moving to the north at roughly 15 mph and it expected to continue on that track over the next several days. By the middle of the week, and turn to the northeast is expected in the north Atlantic. This is likely when the storm will begin to weaken as well.

The National Hurricane Center has said that the storm will stay in the open ocean and poses no threat to the United States or Bermuda.
