The Yankees have had so many horrid moments this season, it’s getting hard to discern which is the worst.
But getting spanked by the rival Red Sox, 12-1, on Saturday to fall behind 3-0 in this four-game series certainly ranks among the dismal moments of this season.
“It can’t get much worse than this,” Michael Kay said on the YES Network broadcast.
“Every once in a while, you get embarrassed on the field... The Yankees have absolutely fallen apart...,” Paul O’Neill added.
“Quite frankly,” said Kay, “the Yankees are getting schooled by the Red Sox...”
The Yankees are now 4-15 against the Red Sox and Blue Jays this season.
They fell to six games behind Toronto in the AL East and to 1 1/2 games back of the Red Sox and in a tie with Seattle for the second wild card spot.
