WEST ALLIS – Beyond the fact that he’ll have a clear track ahead at the start, Alex Palou isn’t completely sure what to expect in the Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 .
“The tire deg(radation) is really high, which I think it’s super good for everybody, like for fans, for media, for drivers, because it’s going to be a very interesting race,” Palou said after winning the pole Aug. 23 for the race the following day.
“I think the tires are really good for like 20 laps. The grip is amazing, and then suddenly you start losing some grip. That’s going to create a lot of passing opportunities.”
That assessment jibes with how things went in 2024 when the NTT IndyCar Series returned to the Milwaukee Mile after a nine-year absence. Drivers made 667 passes in the first half of a doubleheader week
