CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The annual West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival's Pasta Cookoff brought a crowd to Jackson Square in downtown Clarksburg on Saturday, as families and friends supported the annual festival with good-natured contests to determine the best pasta, sauce, peppers and wine.
In the Sweet Peppers in Sauce category, James Watson took first place, followed by Tim Foley in second and Michael Salerno in third. Watson also claimed the top prize in the Hot Peppers in Sauce competition, with Gina Tate finishing second and Travis Riddle third.
For Peppers in Oil, Kim Henderson earned first place honors, while the Spatafore Family — JoAnna, Mary, Teresa and Clara — came in second, and Sam Marra placed third.
