WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (WTNH) — Fairfield National's historic season came to an end on Saturday as team fell to the Mountain Region representatives Las Vegas, Nevada in the Little League World Series US Championship.

Nevada won the game 8-2.

Fairfield went down 3-0 early in top of the first inning, before battling back to 3-1 in the bottom.

Three outs in the top of the second brought Nevada pitcher Garrett Gallegos back to the mound, where he struck out his next three batters.

Fairfield pitcher Luca Pellegrini responded with two strikeouts of his own to retire the side and keep the ballgame at 3-1.

After reaching first base on a single, Fairfield hit into a double play to end the third inning.

Gallegos hit a home run in the top of the fourth to stretch Nevada's lead to 4-1.
