More than 20 people were hospitalized in Beaver County Saturday morning after a bus carrying Aliquippa School District junior high students to a game crashed, according to multiple reports.
Beaver County EMS told WTAE emergency crews were sent to the 1900 block of Shaffer Road in Economy around 10 a.m. after the bus crashed. The vehicle was carrying students, coaches and staff from the Aliquippa School District to a game at Pine-Richland.
A total of 28 people, including 25 students, were on the bus when the crash happened. The bus driver and 21 of the students were taken to the hospital, CBS News said.
The crash downed multiple power lines and poles in the area. Crews were working to remove the bus from the scene, WTAE reported.
