WEST ALLIS, Wis. — David Malukas was sure he’d just nabbed his first pole of his IndyCar career.
Then Alex Palou happened.
The already-crowned 2025 IndyCar champion put more than seven tenths of a mile an hour on second-place en route to his sixth pole of the season Saturday at the Milwaukee Mile , and as they’ve done so often this season, they could do little more than put their hands on their hips, shake their heads and sarcastically smile.
