MIAMI GARDENS — Miami Dolphins tight end Darren Waller hasn’t been seen going through any official practice drill during the team’s training camp out of retirement.
But ahead of the Dolphins’ preseason finale Saturday night against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he was suited up pregame for warmups.
Waller, who was activated off the physically-unable-to-perform list on Wednesday, went through a pregame routine of individual position drills with other tight ends. He also ran some light routes and caught passes from all the quarterbacks.
While usually an indication a player will play when he suits up for official warmups ahead of an exhibition, the possibility of Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel merely wanting Waller to go through a pregame routine without exposing him to any game action is there.
