Australia's latest airline start-up, Koala Airlines , has confirmed that it has secured leases for three Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, paving the way for a potential launch by 2026. The airline is aiming to operate up to 20 aircraft within the first few years of operation.

Koala Chief Executive Officer, Bill Astling, spoke exclusively with Australian Aviation , confirming they have received their Air Operators Certificate, and are expecting to receive their first aircraft by July or August. Subject to final dates of delivery, the airline will likely aim to commence operations shortly after this, before the end of next year.
