Lyle Menendez is being denied parole.

The now 57-year-old has been serving time in prison for the murder of his parents, along with brother Erik Menendez , in San Diego, Calif.

On Thursday (August 21), Erik virtually attended a parole hearing where he was denied parole and release. The next day, Lyle attended his own hearing, where he was also denied, after serving 36 years of their sentence so far.

While the parole commissioner commended Lyle on his behavior in prison, including “lack of violence, his work on programs and his positive relationships with other inmates and staff,” per ABC , he was ultimately denied.
