NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Saints ended their preseason slate with a 28-19 loss to their former coach Sean Payton’s Denver Broncos. New Orleans finished the preseason with a 0-2-1 record.

Spencer Rattler started the game at quarterback for the Saints, playing 15 snaps on three drives, two of which ended in Blake Grupe field goals. Rattler completed 5 of 8 passes for 43 yards.

Rookie Tyler Shough came in after Rattler, running with the second-teamers. Shough completed 12 of 20 passes for 120 yards and provided the Saints’ only touchdown with a 10-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.

Saints coach Kellen Moore gave no indication that either quarterback significantly pulled ahead in the race to claim QB1 status when the season opens two weeks from Sunday.
