ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers placed second baseman Marcus Semien on the 10-day injured list Saturday for just the second time in his 13-year career with a left foot contusion and activated right fielder Adolis García.

Semien fouled a pitch off the foot in the first inning of a 6-4 loss in Kansas City on Thursday, and the Rangers say they still aren't sure the extent of the damage. The three-time All-Star is in a walking boot.

García was activated the first day he was eligible after being out with a left ankle sprain. He took live batting practice Friday before Texas' 4-3 victory over Cleveland in the opener of a three-game series. García was in the lineup Saturday.
