MADISON, Wis. -- Black on State returned to Madison for the second time on Saturday.

Ashley Moses, a Madison native, is the founder of the festival. She created the festival to create a space for young, Black creatives and creators.

"We're trying to turn downtown into a hub where black creators feel comfortable coming here. They feel comfortable knowing that they belong in this space. And we're just out here to enjoy ourselves and bring more people downtown," said Moses.

"When I stayed here in Madison, I didn't see anything. We didn't have anything fun for us black people, " said Lewis-Allen.

Moses says that this festival also celebrates Black culture that might've been forgotten.

"Down south has really like our folks. Like, right up north. You know, we're really doing our thing
