GREEN BAY — Truth be told, Matt LaFleur wasn’t certain that he was doing the right thing. But he certainly knew the risks.

After all, the last time the Green Bay Packers head coach saw his starting quarterback, Jordan Love, in game action, he was getting crunched between two New York Jets pass rushers on his final snap of the Aug. 9 preseason opener.

Later, LaFleur would learn that Love had torn a thumb ligament in his left (non-throwing) hand. Three days after that, Love was undergoing surgery.

And here LaFleur was, risking something similar happening to other key players, in Saturday’s last exhibition game against the Seattle Seahawks at Lambeau Field.
