BROOK PARK, Ohio – A Cleveland resident, 48, called police at about 4:45 p.m. Aug. 8 and said an unidentified man hit him with a tire iron in Kennedy Park, 16800 Sylvia Drive.

The resident said the man drove to the park with his dog. The dog ran away before the man could attach a leash.

The dog trotted toward the unidentified man, who was lying on a bench. The man became upset. He said something to the Cleveland resident, but the resident didn’t understand what the man said.

The Cleveland resident loaded his dog into his car. As the resident stepped into his car, the man approached with a tire iron, yelled at the resident and called him a name to insult him.

The man swung the tire iron at the resident’s head. The resident blocked the tire iron with his hand, which left a cut on his pal
