The New York Jets filled a major hole on their team by adding defensive tackle Harrison Phillips on Wednesday from the Minnesota Vikings.

The Jets knew had to address their defensive tackle needs ahead of the regular season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now that it's done, Seth Walder of ESPN gave New York a "B" for the deal after giving up two late-round draft picks.

"The Jets surrendered two sixth-round picks and a seventh for Phillips, so they didn't get him for nothing," wrote Walder. "The Vikings are paying half of his $7.4 million salary, which matters. It's a short-term move for the Jets but not necessarily a one-year deal. Phillips is under contract for $7.5 million in 2026 that could be worth it depending on how he plays this season. ...
