BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) -The sixth storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season has formed in the southwestern Atlantic.
Fernand is on track to be another "fish" storm, staying well offshore of the U.S. and over the open Atlantic. (KBTX)
Tropical Storm Fernand, located around 405 miles SSE of Bermuda has max winds of 40 mph and is moving North at 15 mph. Over the next few days, the storm will continue drifting northeast, staying well offshore and parallel to the U.S. coastline.
With a short time left over warm waters, further organization will be limited, though intensification into a strong tropical storm - or even a Category 1 hurricane is possible early next week. By midweek, the system is forecast to move into unfavorable conditions, where it will weaken into a post-tropical system.
