LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) -- Athletes of all abilities and disabilities not only showed off their skills but spread awareness Saturday afternoon at the annual Penn State Health RecFest.

“This is an event that is incredibly awesome,” said Nancy Lokey, Critical Case Manager, Physical Medicine Rehabilitation. It's an adaptive sports exposition where we have all that adaptive sports and we have a lot of community resources here as well.”

Lokey started the event back in 2017.

She was inspired by a patient who had a spinal cord injury.

“They used to do this down in Philly and Baltimore, and we wanted to bring it to Hershey. We didn't have a lot of adaptive sports in ours in central Pennsylvania. The initial plan was, okay, we want to have these adaptive sports in our own backyard. And lo and beh
