The Dodgers’ lead in the division was stripped away by the San Diego Padres, as the Dodgers fell to San Diego by a final score of 5-1 at Petco Park.

Nestor Cortes and Tyler Glasnow both matched each other with two perfect innings to begin the game. While Cortes set down the first nine hitters he faced in order, Ramon Laureano gave the Padres their first baserunner in the bottom of the third with a leadoff walk. Fernando Tatis Jr. worked a four-pitch walk to put two men on with two outs for the pesky Luis Arraez. Arraez fouled off eight pitches before grounding out to end the inning.

Cortes kept things rolling in the middle innings, setting down the next six hitters he faced in order to give him five perfect innings. Glasnow’s command began to unravel in the bottom of the fourth inning as
