BUFFALO, N.Y. — We're celebrating Western New York with Big Brothers Big Sisters and a call for volunteers.
Jamill Robbins was just seven when his mom signed him up to be a Little Brother, and he was paired with Normal Izard, who had just moved home to Western New York and wanted to do something to give back.
Izard says he comes from a big family and doesn't have kids of his own, so he became a Big Brother nine years ago.
"It's something I've talked about for years. I moved away for a while, and made excuses why I wasn't doing it, and I came back home, and I was like, 'You know, I'm going to do it,' " Izard said.
