Mark Vientos and Jeff McNeil each hit two home runs and the visiting New York Mets outslugged the Atlanta Braves 9-2 on Saturday night.

The Mets went deep six times -- one short of their season high -- to win the second game of the three-game series. The Mets have won five of their last seven games.

Vientos hit solo homers in the seventh and ninth innings, giving him 11, and McNeil hit a three-run homer in the third and a solo shot in the ninth, giving him 12.

The Mets homered three times in the seventh inning against reliever Dylan Lee to break the game open. Pete Alonso started the uprising with a two-run homer, his 29th. Vientos followed with a solo shot and Starling Marte added a solo homer, his eighth.
