HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - After a 15-year-old boy died while riding an electric motorbike in Ewa Beach last week, cyclists held a workshop to teach riders about safety.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner reported Maddex Fiesta died of blunt force trauma to the head after the collision at around 7:45 a.m. Wednesday.

According to police, Fiesta was crossing the intersection of Kolowaka Drive and Fort Weaver Road when he was hit by a 75-year-old driver.

While Fiesta was in a marked crosswalk, police said he was going against a ‘do not walk’ signal. Investigators said he was not wearing a helmet.
