A shooting in the Bronx on Saturday evening resulted in one death and four injuries, including a teenager in critical condition. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near Haffen Park during a basketball tournament, according to police reports.

Officers responded to the scene at the intersection of Burke Avenue and Wickham Avenue. They found a 32-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to Jacobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A 17-year-old girl was also found with a gunshot wound to her face and was listed in critical condition.

In addition to these two victims, three others arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds. A 30-year-old man was shot in the back and remains in critical condition. A 29-year-old woman also suffered a gunshot wound to her back and is in stable condition. A 42-year-old man sustained a graze wound to his arm and is also in stable condition.

Police have taken four individuals into custody in connection with the shooting and recovered multiple firearms from the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities believe the shooting may be gang-related.

Witnesses reported that the shooting erupted amidst a large crowd gathered for the basketball tournament. The area has been the focus of police attention due to previous gang activity.
