On Sunday at 5:49 a.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated coastal flood advisory in effect until 2 p.m. for Ocean County.
"Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "The Coastal Flood Advisory is primarily for the back bays of Barnegat Bay with this morning's high tide cycle. Further extensions of the advisory may be warranted if water does not drain out of bay quick enough."
