A $23.4 million affordable housing development in Passaic County called The Liberty at Pompton Lakes will prioritize homes for seniors and veterans.
The four-story project is expected to be completed in September 2026.
The Passaic County Board of County Commissioners awarded a $19.6 million contract to APS Contracting, Inc., for the construction of 64 one-bedroom units at 519 Ringwood Ave. for low- and moderate-income households.
The project is scheduled to break ground in the fall.
The housing development will feature a community room for social events, management offices, laundry facilities on each floor, and green space for outdoor activities.
It also will incorporate energy-efficient systems and accessible design elements.
Christian Healthcare Center will manage the facility.
