Former Partick Thistle boss Kris Doolan took in Airdrie's draw with Queen's Park yesterday, sparking speculation he could be about to take the reins at the Diamonds.
The Monklands club are on the lookout for a new manager after Rhys McCabe's surprise resignation last week and former Dunfermline boss James McPake and ex-Larne gaffer Nathan Rooney are among those being considered as his replacement.
However, Doolan was spotted at New Broomfield yesterday taking in Airdrie's first Championship clash without McCabe, as current Diamonds No.2 Aaron Taylor-Sinclair oversaw a 1-1 draw.
Doolan has been out of work since February when he was sacked by the Jags after a run of four ganes without a win. At the time, he blamed budget cuts at Firhill as a major factor in their drop in form
