A suspect was taken into custody near Trailside Park around 7:40 a.m. on Sunday.
There was a heavy Park City Police Department and Summit County Sheriff’s Office presence near Trailside because of a situation involving a “potentially armed individual.”
The incident started before 7 a.m., following reports that the suspect shot a Sheriff’s Office deputy in the hand near the Park City Gun Club on Old Highway 40.
“All residents in the area are urged to shelter in place and report any suspicious persons in the area to 911 immediately,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
According to scanner traffic, the suspect fled the scene and was chased to Trailside Park. The suspect waited in his vehicle as area law enforcement surrounded the area.
