On Tuesday, Aug. 26, residents across the Birmingham metro will cast their ballots to determine who will lead their communities for the next four years.

With elections quickly approaching, AL.com has created a voting guide including candidate lists, campaign platforms and updates on local issues.

Alabaster

Most of the council candidates ran uncontested and have already been certified into the seats.

Incumbents Rick Ellis, Ward 2, Stacy Rakestraw, Ward 3, Greg Farrell, Ward 4, Jamie Cole, Ward 5, and Kerri Plate, Ward 7 will continue their council run for another four years. Jamia Alexander James, a former member of the Alabaster Board of Education, will lead Ward 6.
