The Las Vegas Raiders got some bad news at the quarterback position on Saturday.
Backup quarterback Aidan O’Connell fractured his right wrist in a 20-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the teams’ preseason finale.
O’Connell will need surgery, per Raiders head coach Pete Carroll. O’Connell is expected to be out of action for six-to-eight weeks.
“(O’Connell) is going to be out for a while,” Carroll said. “We got to see what we can do and keep developing Cam (Miller).”
Miller, a sixth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, stepped in and completed 12 of 24 passes for 124 yards against the Cardinals.
O’Connell, who turns 27 on Sept. 1, is expected to be headed to the injured reserve list. That means the Raiders are down to starter Geno Smith and Miller, so it’s likely they’re in the market fo
