The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a high-rise apartment fire on Henderson Highway Saturday afternoon, bringing the situation under control without injuries.
Crews were called to the 1600 block of Henderson Highway at 3:58 p.m. on August 23. Because the incident involved a high-rise building, additional units were dispatched to the scene.

When firefighters arrived, they encountered thick smoke and active flames. An offensive attack was launched while residents sheltered in place as crews worked to extinguish the fire.
The blaze was declared under control at 5:17 p.m. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
