It was a long game on a hot and humid night, a game drawn out by a delayed start and two overtime periods.
But in the end, it was well worth it for the Palm Springs Indians.
"I was like, man, if we let this go, it was all for nothing," Palm Springs head coach Darryl Goree said after his team fought back to tie the game in regulation, then stuffed a quarterback sneak on fourth-and-goal from the 1 in the second overtime for a 38-32 win over Segerstrom of Santa Ana at Ralph Watt Stadium.
