Radnor Township police responded shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday to a call for an armed person inside Austin Hall at Villanova University.

According to police radio:

Villanova police quickly took to the police airwaves and reported that the department had officers near Austin Hall and nothing was seen or heard.

Orders were given to not flood the scene with police vehicles. Officers fanned out around Austin Hall to search the area, then went through Austin Hall, clearing rooms and evacuating the building.

The air priority for police was lifted at 11:30 a.m. Villanova was urged to leave a police officer at the scene.

This incident occurred just three days after an active shooter was reported on the campus on what officials described as a cruel hoax.
