EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Four local veterans in Connecticut received some help on their homes, courtesy of “House of Heroes” on Saturday.
Volunteers came out to help fix up the homes of the veterans on Hobson Street.
House of Heroes recognizes, honors and serves military and public safety veterans and their surviving spouses in need by providing one-day, no-cost home repairs focusing on safety and accessibility.
“I feel like it’s our duty to come out and serve these people who have served us for so many years, it’s the least we could do, being Americans, to help these people,” said Carol May, Executive Director of House of Heroes Connecticut.
House of Heroes has now helped 276 veterans across Connecticut, since work began.
