MEMPHIS, Tenn. --- Gunfire rang out in the parking lot of a Waffle House in Arlington just after midnight Sunday, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said.

Arlington deputies responded at 12:45 a.m. to the restaurant in the 11000 block of Highway 70.

They were told that an argument broke out between two groups of customers inside the restaurant. One of the people involved went outside, retrieved a gun and fired multiple shots into the air.

No one was injured. Deputies say they arrived within three minutes of the call, but everyone involved in the dispute had already fled the scene.

Detectives are investigating.
