Sezen Ulutas with her two daughters and niece perused several picture books, used a chalkboard and simply sat to read in the pristine open space of the newly opened Chippawa library branch.

“It looks nice,” said Ulutas, who lives in the neighbourhood of the library. “There is a lot of open space. It is all very well presented.”

Ulutas and her children had often used the old Chippawa library branch, also on Main Street, but it was closed by the Niagara Falls Public Library board in May 2024 to much consternation.

She said of the new site opposite the Foodland grocery store, “Everything here seems to be better than before.”
