With the dismantling of two-time Sunshine State Athletic Association state champion The Master’s Academy, there could be a new king atop the SSAA this season.
TMA head coach Garrett Kruczek became head coach at Lake Brantley, and with him went several impact players, most notably standout quarterback Jackson Stecher. Several others also departed, including star running back O’Shea Faison, who is now at Lake Mary.
One of the next teams in line to be the favorite for the championship would be Mount Dora Christian Academy.
Not so fast, says MDCA coach Kolby Tackett, who is going into his sixth season. The Bulldogs were 9-3 last season, losing twice to Jacksonville’s Christ’s Church Academy, The other loss was to nemesis TMA.
