DETROIT – Former BYU quarterback Kedon Slovis suited up for his second NFL preseason in 2025, this time with the Houston Texans.
In the team’s final preseason contest, Slovis connected on his first professional touchdown against the Detroit Lions.
Slovis rolled out right and found rookie receiver Daniel Jackson to make the score 23-7. He finished the game with 14 of 16 completions for 111 yards and a touchdown.
In the 2025 preseason with Houston, Slovis completed 27 of his 43 pass attempts for 233 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
Compared to last year, Slovis got a lot more opportunities with the Texans. It remains to be seen if he will get a roster spot as a backup behind CJ Stroud.
Last preseason with the Colts, he connected on 16 of his 22 attempts for 149 yards.
