DUBLIN — Farmageddon is fun. And it’s a shame for college football fans that the historic rivalry between Iowa State and Kansas State will be taking a year off in 2027.

Saturday, No. 22 ISU beat No. 17 KSU 24-21 in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.

Saturday marked the 109th consecutive year ISU and KSU have played a football game. It is the second-longest streak in the Big 12 behind the Sunflower Showdown between KSU and Kansas. That streak is coming to an end in 2027.

This season, playing the ‘Farmageddon’ rivalry in Ireland is the latest in a string of memorable and entertaining games that have been contested through blizzards and freezing temperatures the past three seasons.
