On Sunday at 2:08 p.m. a tornado warning was issued by the National Weather Service in effect until 2:45 p.m. for Cayuga County.
“At 2:08 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Cato, or 12 miles southeast of Fair Haven Beach State Park, moving east at 25 mph,” says the weather service. “Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.”
The warning is for Cato and Meridian.
