GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) -St. Francis Vet Care opened the doors to its new clinic in Gainesville today, drawing many people for a celebration with food trucks, music, raffle prizes, and pet-friendly activities.
The event marked a new chapter for the nonprofit clinic, which has served low-income families, veterans, seniors, and people experiencing homelessness since 2007. The organization recently re-established itself as an independent nonprofit after a brief management transition and is now expanding its services at its new location.
“We meet people where they are, whether that’s financial, transportation, or even educational barriers,” said Executive Director Sarah Wingfield. “We take the time to explain what their pet needs and what would be best for them.”
