JEFFERSON COUNTY — State Rep. Ken Waller, a longtime Republican politico, has died. He was 63.

Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe confirmed Waller's death in a statement Sunday.

“The people of the 114th District and all of Missouri have lost a dedicated public servant and a true friend to his community,” Kehoe said. “Ken was a man of faith, family, and integrity, and his service reflected those values. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

St. Louis Public Radio was the first to report Waller's death.

Waller was the first person to be elected as county executive for Jefferson County in 2010 after the county adopted a new charter government. He also served as clerk and treasurer.
