ATLANTIC BEACH, N.Y. (PIX11) — A man is accused of threatening a would-be Uber customer with a handgun on Saturday, Nassau County Police officials said.
James Watson, 63, allegedly refused to let a 30-year-old woman enter his vehicle while he was working as an Uber driver on Ocean Boulevard in Atlantic Beach around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday, according to police.
Watson, of Roosevelt, allegedly threatened the woman with a handgun, detectives said. In fear for her safety, she canceled the trip and Watson fled the area. Police later found Watson near the Nassau Expressway and Park Street intersection.
During a search of Watson's vehicle, the handgun was found and he was placed under arrest, officials said.
