Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators took to the streets across Australia on Sunday, demanding that the Australian government take action against Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza.

The national rallies were organised by the Palestine Action Group.

Tens of thousands of people flocked to the rallies across most of the state capitals of Australia, calling for a ceasefire and more humanitarian aid for the territory.

Organisers told the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that it was the 97th consecutive week of protests, and that they were continuing to call on the federal government to sanction Israel.
