A group of protesters assembled outside St. Joseph’s Health Care near downtown London on Sunday demanding more details about the fate of dogs formerly used in cardiac research at the hospital.
About 50 people, some joined by their own dogs, gathered outside St. Joe’s at the corner or Richmond and Grosvenor streets Sunday afternoon. Many held signs, some of which conveyed a clear message: They want to know more about the dogs formerly used in research there.
Mackenzie Kirschner, who created a Facebook page that’s attracted more than 800 members interested in the issue, said she wants “to see a statement released from St. Joseph’s with more clear answers about what’s going to happen to the dogs.”
